Daffodil Time

Hello everyone,
We are enjoying a beautiful  but cool spring day.  The sunlight is coming in our large windows making it cozy and warm inside, but sure wish it would warm up outside!  My daffodils are blooming now.  Early for them as they usually bloom mid May.

I set the table for tea today.  I don't own a daffodil teacup, but i do have a mug and plate to share that my special friend out in California gave me a few years ago when i visited her.  They are called "Daffodil"  by Suzanne Clee.  I got the teapot at a thrift store.  It looks spring like to me with the forget- me- nots and violets.  Its marked Ellgrave, a div of Wood  & Sons, England.  My sister gave me the cute little girl votive holder for my birthday last year, and the tiny goldfinch came from my Mom.

My angel statue among the daffodils outside looks like she's cold!

I'm so happy you stopped by today.  I hope you all have a wonderful week.

I'll be joining in on these lovely parties:

Scripture Tea

Hello everyone,
Yesterday was a cool day in the upper 40's and sunny.  We're at the little farm cottage for the weekend.   I took a break from spring raking and thought I'd enjoy a cup of tea and some molasses cookies.   I set the tea tray in front of the fireplace to take the chill off of me.

I'm using one of my favorite teapots I had for years.  I bought a box of raspberry scripture tea on my way home from
Florida, so thought Id try it.  I love the fact that the tea bags have different verses printed on it.  Its like a special verse for the day.

My daughter just gave me her old set of pink dishes knowing I love pink!  The teacup is sturdy and I know will be one of my everyday favorites.

Well, the tea and cookies were just what I needed to bring back some energy to tackle the rest of the flower beds.  Thank you so much for stopping by today.

I'll be joing  the following tea parties:  Tea Time Tuesday, Tuesday Cuppa Tea, Teacup Tuesday,  Table Top Tuesday, Friends Sharing Tea, Return to Loveliness, Teacup Thursday, and Pink Saturday.

Flower Fairies

Hello,
Today its snowing and blowing outside so thought I'd share with you my collection of Cicely Mary Barker Flower Farires that over winter with me in the house.
Cicely Mary Barker was born in England in 1895.  She was frail all her life and educated at home.  She mainly taught herself to draw and paint.  Her fairies were modelled from children that attended her sisters nursery school.
I just love their facial expressions and how true to life they seem.

I keep most of them in my Wardian conservatories.  These garden fairies look like their interested in what is going on with us humans!

The next few pictures is of  my Wardian with a pump organ and one of the garden fairies giving a concert.  Oh!  One of the fairies is flying away and the other is tip toeing away!

This next Wardian shows some flower fairies warming up by the pot bellied stove.  The one on the left looks like he's "pouting".

Well, I hope you enjoyed seeing my collection of flower fairies.  I have more at my little farm cottage and will share them in another post.
The flower fairies seem quite content in their Wardian homes, but as soon as the weather warms up we may be lucky enough to catch a glimpse of them outside in my flower gardens.

Along with the fairies I have the "Complete Book of Flower Fairies" by Cicely Mary Barker.  With pictures of each fairy she painted along with poems about the fairy names.

Easter Tea

Happy Easter everyone,

In celebrating our Risen Savior I've set my table for a Easter Tea.

I'm using my blue ruffle crinoline plates I bought at a resale shop many years ago.  There is no name on the back but I believe they are made by Hazel-Atlas.

The bunnys I collected over the years.

Lastly, I thought I'd share the greeting card I got my  hubby.  A sweet bunny couple having Tea Easter morning.  How sweet!

I hope you enjoyed my Easter Tea and thank you for stopping by.  I always appreciate your visits and lovely comments.  May you have a blessed Easter with your loved ones.

I will be joining Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage for her special Easter Tea Party,  Friends sharing Tea at Bernideens Tea Time blog,  Tabletop Tuesday at A Stroll Thru Life, and At the Bunny Hop at On Sutton Place.

Spring Tea

Happy Spring everyone,
Last spring I gave a little Tea at our farm cottage.

Here's a picture of my darling Granddaughter enjoying tea wearing her favorite tea party hat.

I made these cute and easy cookie hats for the tea.

The brim is a small sugar cookie baked and frosted.  The crown of the hat is a white Reeses peanut butter cup (I can only find these around Easter where I live).  Remove the paper and turn candy upside down and adhere to the frosted brim.  Pipe around the candy base with colored frosting  of your choice.  Decorate with large candy sprinkles or sugar coated flowers.  I had an abundance of Johnny Jump Ups last year and hope I will again later this spring.
Thank you for coming by to visit.  I will be joining Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage for her "Spring Tea".

Silver Coffee and Tea Set

Hello everyone,
I have something very special to share with you today, my beautiful silver set.

About five years ago my hubbys mother downsized and gave the set to her daughter.  Well, last summer my sister in law called me and asked if I wanted the set.  I was so excited and felt so privileged.  This set has been used for many church weddings and receptions, including mine!
After lots of polishing this is how it turned out.  I think absolutely beautiful!

I have it placed it in front of the window in my little cottage living room.  As you can see whe have lots of snow outside, so I'm keeping the little white trees up for a while longer.

The sugar bowl came without a cover.  I found a cover that fit, but the finial doesn't  match, so I'm still looking for a matching top.
But I'm not done with the good news.  The set also came with a teapot that tips on its own stand!  I'm still working on getting it shiny and bright.  I'll post about that beauty later.

Thank you for stopping by and letting me share my treasure.  I'll be joining the following parties:
Teatime Tuesday
Table Top Tuesday
Friends Sharing Tea
Show and Tell Friday

Lonesome For My Garden

Hello everyone,
Today I thought I'd share some pictures I took of my flower gardens last year.  Being in Florida for awhile enjoying the warm weather and lush foilage makes me really lonesome for my  flower gardens back home.

My front flower bed by the driveway.

My four square garden with a mix of perennials overlooking my green house covered with ivy and hops vine.

The flower bed is leading up to our log home and rose arbor by the front porch.

The flower bed by the little red shed at my farm cottage.

Thank you so much for visiting.  Hope I didn't get you lonesome for summer, too!

I will be joining the following parties:
