Welcome dear friends to tea this week. The time of the year to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus. The reason for the Season!
I am using some of my collection of transferware for tea today. I love the old fashion prints of the sweet visions of long ago. The large plates are a thrifty find named Winsor by Ridgeway of Staffordshire, England. The smaller plates are Johnson Bro. from TJ Maxx.
The teacup in the front right is a Currier and Ives. Made in the USA by Homer Laughlin, named View of New York an American subject..
This next teacup is marked Stratford, Scenes of the Shakespeare Country, British Anchor, England.
I am so glad you could join me for tea! Wishing you a blessed Christmas season and a very happy New Year!

I will leave you with a poem I wrote to my dear 94 year old Mother back in 2003 about my childhood Old Fashion Christmases.
My childhood Christmases in the early 1950's were filled with excitement and joy.
Snow glittering beautifully outside our door, icicles hung from our windows so crystal and clear. To our wonder, Jack Frost was here.
It was shivery cold outdoors, a winter wonderland, but our home warm with the love that was there.
The Christmas tree shimmered with tinsel and lights. The many ornaments were so sparkly and bright.
The presents were wrapped lovingly with care, placed under the tree for Christmas morning to be here.
Carols were sung and Christmas music was played. The story of Christmas close to our hearts and very dear.
I remember the smell of our house so clear, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and ginger.
I snuggled in bed on Christmas Eve full of warmth and wonder, very thankful indeed.
I knew then as I know now, I have only to thank my dear momma and daddy for giving those wonderful Christmases to me.
I will be joining these lovely parties this week: Tea Time Tuesday, Friends Sharing Tea, A Return to Loveliness, Teacup Tuesday, and Tuesday Cuppa Tea.
