I'm In The Garden

Hello and welcome!
Today I thought I'd share some pictures of my flower gardens that I enjoy so much.  Help yourself to a cup of tea from my tea set I got at Cracker Barrel a few years ago and enjoy!

Tea In The Garden

Hello, hope you all had a good week and thank you for visiting.  My flowers are blooming away and I'm enjoying them so much.  For tea this week I placed a table by my border of flowers.

I'm using a baby quilt I bought from a friend when I first was to become a Grandma.  My Mom gave me the teapot (no markings on it), it makes a good pot of tea.  The teacup I recently bought at a antique shop in Niagara Falls, Canada.  The marking on the back is Colclough, made in England.  All of the teacups were reduced to $5.00, so I came home with six different ones which I'll share with you another time. I've had the pretty sugar bowl without its mate for a long time. No marking on it either.

Lots of blooming flowers - Lithrum, phlox, daisies, mallow, day lilies, yarrow, lambs ears, and bee balm, etc.

Thank you so much for joining me in my garden for tea and please stop by again.

I'll be joining Beverly at Pink Saturday for her special birthday celebration and these other lovely parties:
Tea Time Tuesday, Teacup Tuesday, Tuesday Cuppa Tea, Tabletop Tuesday, Tuesday Garden Party, Tea In The Garden, A Return To Loveliness, Cottage Garden Party, Share Your Cup Thursday, Teacup Thursday, Simple and Sweet Fridays, Home Sweet Home and Feathered Nest Friday.

Mid Morning Tea

Hello everyone, hope you all had a wonderful week.  We continue to have warmer than normal weather and I'm loving it!  I've been having tea in the mid morning before it gets too warm.
My delphiniums are blooming now so I set the table in a corner of my yard by the greenhouse.

I am using my blue and white teapot along with the teacup from my Moms collection she gave me.  I remember being with her at Woolworths when she bought a place setting for eight.  Lots of good memories!

I made a rhubarb dessert for tea today along with whipped cream.  The recipe is from my Grandma and is very simple to make.

Cream together:  one half cup shortening, one cup brown sugar, one half cup white sugar, one egg.  Add:  two cups flour, one teaspoon baking soda, one half teaspoon salt, one cup sour milk or buttermilk, one and one half to three cups chopped raw rhubarb, one teaspoon vanilla.  Top with mixture of one half cup white sugar, and one teaspoon cinnamon.  Bake in a greased 9 by 13 inch pan at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream ( I think it even tastes better the next day!).

Thank you for visiting.  I always enjoy sharing my garden and teas with you.

Patriotic Tea

Hello, hope you all had a good week!  We have been having beautiful summer weather.  Seeing that the fourth of July is in a few days I thought I'd do a little patriotic theme tea this week on my deck.

I'm using my blue and white teacup made by Churchill and an old blue creamer I've had for years.  All of my white flowerpots are at the farm cottage, so I wrapped the petunias in a doily.

The roses in the background are called Ramblen Red, another Explorer rose.  My deck is two stories high and it reaches the top of the railing.  In the background you can see the gazebo covered with hops vines and bittersweet vines.  Also you can see my four square garden below the deck and my green house.

Thank you for stopping by today.  I always enjoy your visits and comments.  Hope you have a wonderful safe holiday!

I will be joining the following blog parties:  Seasonal Sundays, Make It Pretty Monday, Time Time Tuesday, Tea Cup Tuesday, Tuesday Cuppa T ea, and Tea Cup Thursday.
