Hello everyone and happy Summer to you! I hope you had a good weekend and are enjoying some beautiful days. We spent a few days last week at our little farm cottage and the weather was in the low 70's and sunny. My lilacs at the farm are the best I've seen there for many years, full of blooms from the top to the bottom. I am very blessed to have at least 40 feet of these lovely old fashioned shrubs on the edge of our yard.
I am so glad you can come for tea! I set the table with an assortment of sweet violet tea items.
The round teapot is marked Formalities and the narrow one is stamped EWM.
This teacup is marked Lefton.
And this one is just marked Japan.
On the way to the farm I stopped at the bakery and bought a strawberry rhubarb pie to share. I added whipped cream and a Johnny Jump Up for fun.
I have been enjoying my tea time outdoors. I am so glad summer is here!
I will be cutting lots of bouquets this year for friends and family.
Thank you so much for visiting me and please come back soon! I will be sharing this tea party with Terri at Artful Affirmations for her special Garden Tea Party and also these other lovely parties: Tea Time Tuesday, A Return to Loveliness, Tea in the Garden, Teacup Tuesday, Tuesday Cuppa Tea, Garden Style Party, Share Your Cup Thursday, Home Sweet Home, Simple and Sweet Fridays, and Show and Tell Friday.

Love the hat and I love purple. Wonderful garden tea scape with beautiful violet teacups and teapots -- love the shapes of the pots. Happy Tea Day!
Your tea table setting is awesome with the lilacs blooming behind it.
Tying in some violet china and offering 2 lavender sun hats makes me want to come right over and join you.
I love strawberry rhubarb pie too.

Hi Nancy,
What a beautiful spot for a "violet" garden tea party! Your lilacs are amazing and aren't you blessed to have so many! Beautiful teapots and teacups, and a yummy pie too. The scent of your lilacs would be delightful sitting there with a cuppa tea. Thank you for sharing and coming to tea with me.
Blessings,
Sandi
I think that is the tallest lilac I have ever seen! Just incredible and what a glorious setting for Tea IN The garden! Just fabulous!!!
Your lilacs are stunning, and so large! Wow! Loved your tea setting too, Nancy. Very pretty teapot and teacups and the pie looks great. I've never had strawberry rhubarb pie but it sure sounds delish! I have both rhubarb and strawberries, maybe I'll make one.
Blessings, Beth
Beautiful! I love you lilacs.
Gorgeous! I'll be right over.
Oh my!Such a gorgeous garden tea! I love your lilac hedge. Lilacs are one of my absolute favorite flowers. Your hedge is glorious! What a setting! And your beautiful violet themed tea is romantic. Both tea pots are really lovely. Your tea cups thin and delicate. I think I would love to join you for rhubarb pie, especially in your lovely garden!
You did a beautiful job creating your tablescape.

Terri

Hi dearest Nancy, I always love to visit your sweet teas at the farm cottage. How lucky you are to have so many lilacs!! I wish I lived nearby to be a recipient of one of those bouquets of lilacs!! How I miss their lovely smell.
Your violet tea pieces are so pretty and I love the two hats place at the chairs, ready to wear. Each person will surely enjoy their rhubarb pie, too.
Hello Nancy,
Your tea party is simply gorgeous. So delicate and romantic surrounded by such beautiful blooms. The purple tea cups snd tea pots add the perfect touch. Thank you for visiting me.
Fondly,

Oh, those lilac bushes are just amazingly gorgeous! What a pretty setting for tea, and then to use all the violet-patterned pieces made it even prettier. I know you're enjoying it and I'm glad you shared it.
Your lilac tea is beautiful and the lilac bushes are stunning in full bloom. I am sure it smells wonderful at this time of year. I love the teapot on the stand too. Thank you for joining Home Sweet Home!

Hi Nancy, happy summer to you too! Wow, you're a lucky girl to have lilacs blooming. Our barely had a week of blooms, (of course it rained all that week), and then they were over with. What do you think about the new repeat blooming cultivars. I'm not sure what to make of them, I mean, lilacs are so ephemeral and so spring, so if they were to repeat bloom in the fall that might just take the mystery out of it for me. Hmm...dilemma. But I love your violet and periwinkle cups. so perfect under the lilacs. I have to go buy some for Kerstin, my middle child. Violets are her favourite flower and the middle name of her daughter. Hope you have a wonderful rest of the week and I'll check in with you soon. Hugs :)
Tea pots are just beautiful of course I love the Pansy one best I like the stand it's sits on..love purple.. I do love violets though your lilacs look gorgeous Nice post with love Janice

Dear Nancy, I found your site through Kitty...When I came onto your site and saw this post I immediately though 'Oh I have the exact teapot!'
I bought mine years ago at Sweezey's! My daughter picked it out...we've had many tea parties and beautiful memories.
You created a beautiful layout. I would love to join you for some tea! Have a blessed week and safe July 4th.
