Hello everyone. I hope you had a wonderful week!
Today I thought I'd share a exciting story of how I found some red transferware dishes while being a snow bird here in Florida. I fell in love with this pattern after seeing so many lovely blogs featuring their transferware. I have a few pieces at home and did a post last May titled "Tea by the Pond" using what I had.
A few weeks ago we went to Micanopy, Fl. The tiny town is filled with antiques and little shops. I walked into one of these stores and there in the middle of the store was a table with this transferware all spread out. Boy, did my heart go pitapat! The dishes were so grimy I thought they were all in poor condition. I almost walked away, but I could almost hear them saying "please take me home and make me beautiful again"! When the cashier said the price was $28.00 I could hardly believe it! He told me they were stored in a cardboard box in someone's barn and I would need to soak them in bleach to get the stains out. Well, as soon as I got back to our RV I washed them in dish detergent and they came out almost perfect!
I've been looking for a red transferware teapot at a reasonable price for about a year and was so pleased to find this one marked Windsor, England and a teacup with saucer marked Homer Laughlin, Historical America, in a different antique mall.
Many of the dishes are the Mason Vista, England pattern.
And Johnson Brother's Old Britain Castles.
I couldn't wait to use them so I set a table for two using the Mason transferware.
Well, finding these dishes sure made my day! It's a good thing we will be going home in a RV, to hold all my treasures!
Thank you so much for stopping by and have a wonderful week!
I'll be joining the following parties this week: Friends Sharing Tea, Teatime Tuesday, Teacup Tuesday, Tuesday Cuppa Tea, A Return to Loveliness, Tabletop Tuesday, Share Your Cup Thursday, Simple and Sweet Fridays, Home Sweet Home, Show and Tell Friday, and Pink Saturday.

It most certainly is good you're going home in your RV. The set of transfer ware is an amazing find. I do not own any, but find myself very interested in it. I love that you enjoy table settings, china, & teacups even while away from home. Now that's the way to really enjoy life!
I think 28 dollars would be a great price just for that wonderful teapot! I'm so glad you rescued these beautiful dishes. So lovely to see. Enjoy!
Those are beautiful!

What a buy! I have collected red and white for years, but have never come up with a deal like that. I am so glad that you weren't put off by the dirt! We have some prized antique cannisters which I almost passed up for the same reason. I'm glad I didn't
Oh...My goodness! Just look at all your redware. I am a huge lover of red in any way, shape or form. I have oodles of blueware and would love to find a few red pieces one day.
Your garden tea party display is lovely and so inviting.

I adore your red and white transfer ware :) I collect the blue and white ones and unfortunately I don't have room for the red and white... lol Greetings from Australia♥ ~Pernilla
O mY!! What a beautiful collection of Red Transfer ware. i collect both red and blue and last year at Salvation army I was able to buy 10 dinner plates and tea cups and saucers for $30+. I was so excited. I have picked up most of my pieces at yard sales, flea markets and thrift shops.
