I have something very special to share with you today, my beautiful silver set.
About five years ago my hubbys mother downsized and gave the set to her daughter. Well, last summer my sister in law called me and asked if I wanted the set. I was so excited and felt so privileged. This set has been used for many church weddings and receptions, including mine!
After lots of polishing this is how it turned out. I think absolutely beautiful!
I have it placed it in front of the window in my little cottage living room. As you can see whe have lots of snow outside, so I'm keeping the little white trees up for a while longer.
The sugar bowl came without a cover. I found a cover that fit, but the finial doesn't match, so I'm still looking for a matching top.
But I'm not done with the good news. The set also came with a teapot that tips on its own stand! I'm still working on getting it shiny and bright. I'll post about that beauty later.
Thank you for stopping by and letting me share my treasure. I'll be joining the following parties:
Teatime Tuesday
Table Top Tuesday
Friends Sharing Tea
Show and Tell Friday

That is a gorgeous teaset! And I loved seeing your foxglove blooming inside. I've never had one in the house before, although I adore them in my garden!
Hugs, Beth
Oh it is stunning. I can see why you love it so much. Beautiful. Hugs, Marty
A beautiful set...even more so as it's a family set! How nice that it was used at your wedding. Your photos of the set in situ are lovely!

Your tea set is exquisite! So pretty and elegant.
Hello,
this is a wonderful set. If you hadn't mention the difference, I had never seen it. It looks really perfect, so shiny and bright. I hope you will enjoy many nice celebrations with it.
Best greetings, Johanna
Your inherited silver tea set is indeed in good condition. I was given a family set too but unfortunately the inside of both pots is badly pitted and to have them redone would cost too much.
I like where you've put yours in front of the window, it will be all sparkly with the sunshine.
What a stunning silver tea service! It is a treasure and I imagine sitting in the window, it creates a great deal of sparkle. Beautiful! I hope you find the matching top for your sugar and I look forward to seeing the tipping pot. That is an amazing piece to have!
We still have snow here too. Thank you for sharing your beautiful silver service with us.
Blessings,
Sandi
My friend wove some long strands of pearls on her silver service and put tall/large white candles in the sugar and cream containers. They looked so pretty at a recent party she had.
Oh I adore the silver teapots!
I hope you'll stop by my blog. I am hosting a giveaway for a $50 Kirklands gift card.
Your set is so lovely! I inherited mine too. It just makes it that much more special! :)

What a joy to have such an elegant collection. I like your foxgloves and lilies You have created a very cozy place to have tea with wicker furniture in white. Have a great Tuesday! Zinnia
Oh, this is just gorgeous. Lucky you.
Your silver tea set is beautiful, Nancy, and even more special because of the family history. It will probably be passed down to your daughter someday. How nice that it was used at your wedding!
My mother gave me her silver set
that was a gift for her 25th Wedding Anniversary. I have used it at many church tea parties as well as home parties. I don't have mine displayed though. Maybe I should get it out of the tote so I can enjoy seeing it on a daily basis. You've got a perfect spot to display yours. ~ Phyllis
Your silver collection is so lovely. Have a wonderful evening.

Hi! Your silver tea set is so pretty. Thank you for sharing it with us. Pat
I love this post - thanks for linking to Friends Sharing Tea! Last year I bought all kinds of plants and had to keep them inside. I always "jump the gun" and then it is still snowing in early May. I am going to try and wait this year.
Lovely setting you have by the window!
What a treasure to be cherished! It is absolutely beautiful. I love how you have it displayed on your wicker table. I see the beautiful Foxglove, one of my favorite perennials.
Hugs,
Jann

It looks so fantastic Sterling Silver Tea Set. Antique silver plated tea sets are highly prized, and a truly wonderful way to add a little luxury to everyday life. Silver is the most reflective metal known to man.
