A Log Home Christmas

Hello!  I hope you had a good week and enjoying this Christmas season!

Today I thought I'd share some pictures of my home decorated for Christmas.  I love these days when the decorations are up, shopping is about done, and I can play some favorite Christmas carols and enjoy my home in the Christmas spirit.

Welcome and come in!  I have  tea or coffee ready for you!

My fireplace mantel all decorated for Christmas.

A little vignette behind the love seat.

My corner cabinet filled with my Mother's dishes and a Victorian family I made years ago.

Pictures toward dining room.  We got our share of snow and reflection from the Christmas tree.

Some decorations on top of my Grandma's china cabinet.  A church I found at a thrift store, silver set I gave my Mom and received back, and my favorite, my Mom's little girl reading a book beside a button tree my cousin Jan made for me.

My Grandfather made the manger and it is so precious to me.

Lastly, a window decoration in my kitchen.  My children and I made the tiny houses on the lower window sill back in the seventy's.  So many happy memories!  And what would be Christmas without making Christmas cookies without the Grandkids!  Grandson James and girlfriend Cassidy.

Thank you for taking the time out to visit me during this blessed Christmas season.  Wishing you a very Merry Christmas!

I'll be joining the following parties this week:  A Return to Loveliness, Home, Open House, Share Your Cup Thursday, Simple and Sweet Fridays, Home Sweet Home, Feathered Nest Friday, Show and Tell Friday, and Pink Saturday.

Two Christmas Tea Parties

Hello everyone.  I hope you all had a good week and enjoying this special Christmas season!

Today I want to share with you two Christmas Teas  I recently gave at the farm cottage.  The cottage was all decorated for Christmas, just waiting for a tea party!  The first tea was given for two sweet friends, Sue on the left and Wendy on the right in the picture.  I attended a wonderful Tea at Sue's lovely home a few weeks ago and enjoyed it so much!

I placed the table in front of the fireplace and Christmas tree.  I used my white crochet tablecloth my friend from Florida gave me and set the table with my Moss Rose china.

First course for the tea was spinach quiche and pumpkin soup served in vintage clear glass snack sets (forgot to take a picture!).  On the three tier tray I had cream scones along with devonshire cream and homemade raspberry jam.  Next were the savories which were chicken salad in parmesan shells, ham salad on pumpernickel bread, turkey with cranberry and cream cheese spread on wheat bread.  Sweets were chocolate brownies, whipped cream tarts, madalines, and gingerbread squares with orange cream   I served mock champagne (half apple juice and half sparkling white grape juice) along with Nottingham Scottish Breakfast tea and a tea called "Snowflake" from the tea room Tea Leaves and Thyme in Woodstock, Ga.

The next day I invited my dear daughter (in foreground) and friend Kim to come for tea.

I served the same menu, only changed the tea set to a mismatched collection of teacups and dessert plates.

After I took the pictures I realized the teapot  wasn't in any of the photos!  So I quickly took one!  I recently found this Sadler teapot at a thrift store for $12.98.  Great buy!  I knew both of the girls preferred green tea so I served  Touch of Organic Mango green tea, and World Market organic white pomegranate.

It was such a fun two days for me, enjoying tea with my daughter and friends.  A wonderful blessing!

Thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to share my Christmas tea with you and hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

I'll be joining the following parties this week:  Teatime Tuesday, Friends Sharing Tea, A Return to Loveliness, Tuesday Cuppa Tea, Teacup Tuesday, White Wednesday, Share Your Cup Thursday, Teacup Thursday, Simple and Sweet Fridays, Home Sweet Home, Feathered Nest Friday, Show and Tell Friday, and Pink Saturday.

Giveaway Winner and Tea

Hello everyone and happy December!

We have a winner from my Thankful drawing!.  Congratulations Kitty at Kitty 's Kozy Kitchen!   Kitty, please email me your mailing address so I can send the gifts right off to you!

I've been at our farm cottage for a couple of weeks with no internet.  Its good to be back home and to be able to enjoy all your wonderful posts!   Before I left for the cottage I decorated the Christmas tree and thought it would be a perfect place for tea.

I chose a magazine, placed a tray with my new to me holiday teapot and teacup filled with Harney & Sons Holiday Tea, and settled in hubby's comfy leather chair for a little relaxing time.  The teapot is marked "A Cup Of Christmas Tea"   by Waldman House, Inc.  and the teacup is a Lefton.  I just love the long spout on the teapot!

I cross stitched the little tea cloth years ago.  I made about ten of these and gave them along with homemade jam in baskets to all the great men who helped hubby build our log home.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my first Christmas Tea of the season!

Thank you for visiting.  I always appreciate your visits and comments!

I'll be joining the following lovely parties!  Teatime Tuesday, Friends Sharing Tea, Tuesday Cuppa Tea,  Teacup Tuesday, A Return to Loveliness, Share Your Cup Thursday, Simple and Sweet Fridays, Home Sweet Home, and Show and Tell Friday.
