Mid Morning Tea

Hello everyone, hope you all had a wonderful week.  We continue to have warmer than normal weather and I'm loving it!  I've been having tea in the mid morning before it gets too warm.
My delphiniums are blooming now so I set the table in a corner of my yard by the greenhouse.

I am using my blue and white teapot along with the teacup from my Moms collection she gave me.  I remember being with her at Woolworths when she bought a place setting for eight.  Lots of good memories!

I made a rhubarb dessert for tea today along with whipped cream.  The recipe is from my Grandma and is very simple to make.

Cream together:  one half cup shortening, one cup brown sugar, one half cup white sugar, one egg.  Add:  two cups flour, one teaspoon baking soda, one half teaspoon salt, one cup sour milk or buttermilk, one and one half to three cups chopped raw rhubarb, one teaspoon vanilla.  Top with mixture of one half cup white sugar, and one teaspoon cinnamon.  Bake in a greased 9 by 13 inch pan at 350 degrees for 50 minutes.
Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream ( I think it even tastes better the next day!).

Thank you for visiting.  I always enjoy sharing my garden and teas with you.

I'll be joining the following lovely parties this week:  Teatime Tuesday, Teacup Tuesday, Tuesday Garden Party, Tabletop Tuesday,  Tuesday Cuppa Tea, Return to Loveliness, Tea In The Garden,  Cottage Garden Party, Share Your Cup Thursday, Teacup Thursday, Simple and Sweet Fridays, Home Sweet Home, Feathered Nest Friday, and Pink Saturday.

Always so dreamy. I love the bird fence. I grew up on the blue onion plates...so I felt nostalgic seeing those cute cups and saucers. What a great space.

Oh my goodness! What an enchanted bower of blue and white goodness you made for yourself. Love this special corner of your garden. Like a bit of Eden. Notice you have Victoria magazine. Been my favorite magazine since I was 12 years old. So glad they brought it back again!
