Purple Lilac Tea

Hello everyone and happy Summer to you!  I hope you had a good weekend and are enjoying some beautiful days.  We spent a few days last week at our little farm cottage and the weather was in the low 70's and sunny.  My lilacs at the farm are the best I've seen there for many years, full of blooms from the top to the bottom.  I am very blessed to have at least 40 feet of these lovely old fashioned shrubs on the edge of our yard.

I am so glad you can come for tea!  I set the table with an assortment of sweet violet tea items.

The round teapot is marked  Formalities and the narrow one is stamped EWM.

This teacup is marked Lefton.

And this one is just marked Japan.

On the way to the farm I stopped at the bakery and bought a strawberry rhubarb  pie to share. I added whipped cream and a Johnny Jump Up for fun.

I have been enjoying my tea time outdoors.  I am so glad summer is here!

I will be cutting lots of bouquets this year for friends and family.

Thank you so much for visiting me and please come back soon!  I will be sharing this tea party with Terri at Artful Affirmations for her special Garden Tea Party and also these other lovely parties:  Tea Time Tuesday, A Return to Loveliness, Tea in the Garden, Teacup Tuesday, Tuesday Cuppa Tea, Garden Style Party, Share Your Cup Thursday, Home Sweet Home, Simple and Sweet Fridays, and Show and Tell Friday.

White Lilac Tea

Hello and welcome!  Hope you are enjoying the lovely month of June.  My lilacs are finally blooming!  I am so happy to be able to have tea with the lilacs.  My white lilacs at home are always the first to bloom.  I set the tea table among the blossoms not only for the sweet smell, but also to see the many butterflies  that are enjoying the flowers.

I am so glad you can join me for tea. I am serving strawberries and whipped cream along with the tea.

I am using my red transferware dishes I found in Florida last winter.  The Windsor teapot is filled with Windsor Gardens English Breakfast tea.

The teacups and saucers are Vista by Mason.

The bowls and sweet creamer are by Taylor Smith.

My garden fairy is enjoying the day reading a book among the lilacs.

Thank you for coming to tea!  Come back next week and we'll have tea by the purple lilacs at the little farm.

This week I will be joining the following parties:  Tea Time Tuesday, Tea In The Garden, A Return To Loveliness, Tuesday Cuppa Tea, Teacup Tuesday, Garden Style Party, Share Your Cup Thursday, Simple and Sweet Fridays, Home Sweet Home, and Show and Tell Friday.

Hen House Retreat

Hello and welcome!  It's a beautiful and sunny day with a cool breeze so thought I'd take tea in my little hen house retreat.  The shed originally was a chicken coop that my hubby built years ago.  After it stood empty for a few years I got the bug to clean it and make it into my own little retreat.  I meant to white wash the inside but never seem to get at it!  Within a month the outside of the hen house will be covered with hop vines.

I made a quick pot of  Earl Grey tea and chose a Victoria magazine to enjoy for a brief break from gardening.

The teacup is marked England and the saucer is marked Melody by Myott, England 1952.

Here's more pictures of the inside of my retreat I've decorated with second hand finds.

I hope you enjoyed the tour of my hen house retreat!  Wishing you all a wonderful week and thank you so much for stopping by!

I will be joining the following parties this week:  A Return to Loveliness, Tea in the Garden, Share Your Cup Thursday, Home and Garden Thursday, Simple and Sweet Fridays,  Home Sweet Home, and Show and Tell Friday.

Tea and Cherry Blossoms

Hello and happy June to you!  We had a couple of warm days last week and my cherry tree next to the deck  is giving such a beautiful show of blossoms. I decided to have tea as close as possible to enjoy the sweet aroma and the beauty of the cherry blossoms.

I'm using a teapot and teacup that I found last year at a thrift shop.  The teapot is marked Occupied Japan.  I love the sweet pink and blue flower spray and the elongated style of the spout.

The teacup is unmarked but has a pretty shape to it.

You can see   a little bit of my yard with the flower beds.  Not much blooming yet.  We are way behind last year, as it has been a cold spring for us with just a few warm days here and there.

We are expecting a frost tonight.  I sure hope that will be our last one! Hopefully this week I'll buy my annuals and fill my window boxes and flower pots.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit me.  I always look forward to hearing from you!

I'll be joining the following parties this week:  Tea in the Garden, Tuesday Cuppa Tea, Teacup Tuesday,  Table Top Tuesday,  A Return to Loveliness, Cottage Garden Party, Simple and Sweet Fridays, Home Sweet Home, Show and Tell Friday, and Saturday Showoff.
