A Lilac Tea

Hello and welcome,
Its another beautiful day in May!  The lilacs are in full bloom and giving off such an amazing smell.  I thought I'd do Tea near the lilacs to take in the beauty and sweet aroma of the blossoms.

Today I'm using a special teacup my friend gave me.  Its a memento from Washington DC.  I love the dainty footed shape and the delicate pink color.

I bought the little fairy pushing a cart full of lilacs at a thrift store.

I painted the silk scarf at a craft class I attended last winter in Florida.  I like how it can be used as a  runner to add some color to the tea table.

To the right is my garden shed I made from our old chicken coop.  Its a perfect place to relax with a cup of tea and a good book.

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit me again.  I always look forward to hearing from you.  Have a wonderful week!

I will be joining the following parties:  Tea Time Tuesday, Teacup Tuesday, Tuesday Cuppa Tea, Friends Sharing Tea, A Return to Loveliness, Cottage Garden Party, Share Your Cup Thursday, Teacup Thursday, Simple and Sweet Fridays, Home Sweet Home, and Pink Saturday.

Tea By The Pond

Hello everyone, hope you all had a great weekend.  We had  beautiful warm weather the past few days and decided to enjoy a mid morning Tea outside by our boggy pond.

Mr. and Mrs. Mallard have set up residence in the pond.  Right now they are off visiting other ponds in the area so I can now prepare for Tea without disturbing them!

I chose my pink calico quilt for a table covering and used my transferware dishes I've started collecting.  I only have these four pieces so far and I'm on the hunt for more!

The cup and saucer are unmarked.  The dessert plate is marked "Four Seasons - England " and the creamer is "Taylor Smith, USA".  I wonder who owned them before me and what kind of home they were in.

My lilacs are just starting to bloom so picked a few for Tea.

Thank you for visiting me and letting me share a little piece of our log home property.

I'll be joining the following lovely parties:

Indoor - Outdoor Tea

Hello and welcome,
I have a day all to myself and want to get out in the garden later.  Its still too cold out for a outdoor tea so decided to do tea in front of our large windows in the dining room.

I found the teacup at a thrift shop for a quarter!  There's no mark on it but matches a saucer I have quite well.  The plate is one I found thrifting also.  The marking reads Smith Taylor USA

In the background is my fairy garden I winter over indoors.  Its very lush and overgrown.  Once I bring it on my porch for the summer I'm sure the garden fairies will start trimming their little yard!

This is my favorite chair to sit in, surrounded by six large windows.  I love to watch drink tea and watch the birds and squirrels enjoying spring.

I've been wanting to join Bernideens "Friends Sharing Tea" showcasing all the lovely Tea settings.  So, on a whim I took the tea tray outside and took a few pics with my daffodils and primroses.

Here I set the tray on a chippy old lawn chair (hmmm, a white cloth would look good under the tray!).

Lastly, I thought I'd show you a fairy garden I made in our old rusty wheelbarrow.  Come June 1st after the last frost deadline I'll plant annuals in it.

Thank you so much for taking time to stop by and visiting me.  I always enjoy your visits and comments.

I'll be joining the following fun parties:
Tea Time Tuesday, Return to Loveliness, Friends Sharing Tea, Home Sweet Home, and Show Off Your Cottage Monday.

A May Tea

Hello everyone,
We are at our little farm cottage again and thought i'd share another tea setting.  I'm fighting my first cold in four years so thought a cup of tea is just want I needed.  The weather just does not want to cooperate.  Still cool in the 40's and 50's with a fierce wind!

I thought I'd  use my Pansy cup and saucer a friend gave me.  The name is Rosana - made in England.  The tea i'm drinking today is a black tea from the Hale tea company.

Being  May I've been thinking of Mothers Day and my sweet Mom.  I bought this for my mom many years ago was was returned to me when she downsized.

The picture of Mother and Child I bought  for myself.  I love my flowers but being a Mother is the best thing on earth!

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope the weather will warm up soon so I can join the outdoor teas!

I'll be joining the following parties:
Teatime Tuesday, A Return to Loveliness, Friends Sharing Tea, Feathered Nest Friday, and  Home Sweet Home.
