Afternoon Tea

Hello and welcome!  On my last post I mentioned a Afternoon Tea Party  my friend Sue and I were hosting at my little farm cottage.  Today I thought I would share the lovely afternoon with you!  First though,  Sue from  serenitea-sb  wrote a wonderful post about the tea.  If you like, please see her blog for more pictures of the afternoon.

My first picture is of the little farm cottage where the tea was held.  Miss Matilda is sitting in the rocker with a cup of tea close by, waiting to welcome the guests!

I took a few pictures of the tearoom before guests arrived.  I used my Mom's rose dishes, and some Moss rose dishes I've been collecting.

For favors I filled floral containers with a teapot sugar cookie, a truffle, and  a tea bag.

Sue is busy pouring tea for our guests.

The first course was a delicious apple soup and cheese crackers, that Sue made.  Then came the three tiered trays with scones, tea sandwiches, and sweets.

We served American Classic loose leaf tea from the Charleston Tea Plantation.

Before tea time the guests were invited to visit my little bedroom next to the tea room.

Plenty of hats for the party!

A little reading nook in the bedroom.

Lot's of wonderful memories were made at this Tea party!  Certainly a day to remember!

Thank you so much for visiting!  Hope you all have a wonderful week!

I will be joining the following parties this week:  A Return to Loveliness, Teatime Tuesday, Friends Sharing Tea, Teacup Tuesday, Tuesday Cuppa Tea,  Share Your Cup Thursday, and Show and Tell Friday.

  6. Dear Nancy, I loved seeing your cute farm cottage/tea room, with Matilda sitting on the front porch welcoming everyone to the tea party! Your favors are so cute and the tiered servers of food look delicious! The "Petals" three-tiered server caught my eye immediately since I collect petals dishware. I have one of the servers too, as well as the teapot rug that I saw in one of the photos. Your bedroom is so cozy and I love the hat stand filled with tea-time hats. Cute reading nook too. Thanks for taking me to your tea party vicariously! Have a great week!

  9. Even a week later, I viewed the pictures as though it was a first-time visit. You certainly have a talent for decorating, and welcoming others in. I was able to take away new ideas for serving, and much more. May your quiet moments continue to be blessed with fond memories and tea time treats, Sue of sereniTea-sb

  10. Such a perfectly lovely day - I got a little distracted because I went over to Sue's blog to read and got carried away - both blogs are delightful and you are so fortunate to have such a close, nearby friend. Your home is delightful.
