Lilac Time

It is lilac time here in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and while we were at the farm cottage I set up a little tea in front of our bank of purple lilacs to share with you.

My dear daughter-in-law gave me the cute tea cart recently and I found the tea set at a thrift store a while ago.

The tea set is marked Japan.  I need to scale down on my tea pretties and told myself to only buy made in England china,  but I couldn't resist the set for only $5.99!

I love the tiny raised flowers on the teapot, along with the pretty birds.  I thought they might be blue birds, but my hubby says they are swallows!  What do you think?

Lots of lilacs again this year!  Plenty to give away and keep in the cottage for their beauty and fragrance.

There are three different designs on the teacups. I love the patterns!

Thank you so much for stopping by!  Hoping you have a wonderful month of June!

I will be joining Bernideen for her 100th  Tea In The Garden Party.  Congratulations Bernideen!  I always enjoy her beautiful outdoor tea settings!

I also will be joining these lovely parties:  No Place Like Home, Tuesday Cuppa Tea, and Teacup Tuesday.

Oh Nancy, you always share the prettiest outdoor teas at your cottage. The lilacs are magnificent, and that tea cart is absolutely adorable. Your tea set, as I can see, was hard to resist, because it's just so pretty, and looks perfect on your tea cart. Happy June, Nancy!

Love the Lilacs! Another wonderful flower we can't grow in Florida! But my mother loved them so much, when she died we had them brought in special for her funeral (which was in May, so it was good timing for the lilacs). Just wish she could have seen them...But anyway, on to more pleasant thoughts...I love your tea set. The birds are shaped more like swallows, but look like bluebirds in color. Perhaps they are Japanese bluebirds! Anyway...they are really beautiful...and I don't blame you for buying that tea set. It is lovely!!! Thank you for sharing your beautiful lilac garden with us. You are so blessed with so much beauty surrounding you!

Hi Nancy, how gorgeous is your lilac tea setting! Your lilacs are amazing and your teaset is way too cute, I wouldn't have left it either. But I have been thinking the same thing, England only. I do think the birds are swallows though. Your purple hat really does make everything else pop, beautiful!
Have a lovely weekend,
gina

Purple is my favourite colour so I'm loving the pretty lilacs and hat! I'm also a fan of the white tea card and the lovely Japanese tea set is a great find.

Your tea set is really sweet, Nancy. The birds look like swallows to me although their breasts are red so perhaps they are meant to be blue birds. In any case, they are adorable! I love your lilacs. I have to borrow mine from a friend because I don't have my own. Your garden must smell heavenly with the scent of them. Love the little tea cart too. A lovely post as usual, Nancy. Thank you for sharing with us and have a beautiful day.

Blessings,
Sandi

The lilacs are just gorgeous! One of my very favorite flowers and fragrances. I am going through your posts and pinning to my Tea and Crumpets board. We lived on K.I. Sawyer AFB in the mid-60s. Coming from the Midwest, it was a shock to arrive in late November to tons of snow. I think we had two seasons: winter and August.

Hi Nancy, Your garden is lilac Heaven. I can only imagine the wonderful fragrance! Lilacs and sunflowers are my favorite flowers. I noticed your Alice's Teacup book - I was happy I got to go there while in NYC recently. I have the book too, but as yet I haven't made anything from it. Lovely tea set and tea cart. ~ Phyllis
