Tea At The Grand Floridian Garden View Lounge

Hello and welcome!  For tea time this week I'm sharing Tea at the Grand Floridian.  Last month my family met at Disney World to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary.  On Saturday of that week it also happened to be my birthday!  While the others went to a water park, and hubby rested in the motor home, I went to the Grand Floridian for tea!

What a delightful tea time it was!  From a variety of tea I chose the Garden View Blend.  A black tea blend of Golden Assam, Keemun, and a light flowery Earl Gray.

Isn't that a darling teapot?  It held exactly four cups of tea and I drank every drop!    A tea cozy came on the teapot to keep the tea nice and hot!

First was served the sandwiches and savories.  There was golden beet, curry egg salad, chicken salad, cucumber sandwiches, and a sweet onion tart.  Also, yellow cheese, German cheese with fresh sage, crackers, and an assortment of raspberries, blueberries, and red grapes.  All so yummy!

Then came the white raisin scone served with lemon curd, devonshire cream, and apricot jam.  Also a strawberry tart.

Lastly, the dessert.   I had a choice of strawberries and cream, English trifle, or an assortment of sweets.  It was a hard decision, but I chose the sweets!  Just look at the blueberry mousse swan!

Here are some pictures of the Garden View Lounge.

When my tea time was over I was presented with a long stem rose for celebrating my birthday at the Garden View Lounge!

I had a wonderful leisurely afternoon after spending four days in the park with  my precious family!

Thank you so much for stopping by and hoping you have a blessed week!

Tea Under The Plum Tree

Welcome to my first tea in the garden for 2015!  It has been a cool wet season for us here, But I did manage to have a leisurely tea by our plum tree full of blossoms last week.

I used my collection of Lily of the Valley tea ware, as my Lilly of the Valley flowers are blooming now.

The Teapot is made by Arthur Wood and Son, Staffordshire, England.

The teacups and plates made by Alfred Meakin, England.

The pretty decorated cake is from our Anniversary celebration at Disney World, and the teapot is filled with tea I bought from the Grand Floridian Tea Room.

My sister gave me the darling fairies sharing tea with us.

Thank you so much for joining me for tea in the garden!   Next time I will share the wonderful tea I had at the Grand Floridian in Disney World!

I will be joining the following parties this week:  Tea Time Tuesday, Tea in the Garden, Teacup Tuesday, and Tuesday Cuppa Tea and A Return to Loveliness.

Tea With Blogging Friends

Hello, I know it has been a while since my last post, but now that Spring is here it is time to start planning on having tea in the garden again.  For today though, I want to share a lovely lunch my hubby and I had with my dear blogging friend Phyllis from Relevant Tea Leaf,  and her husband Jerry.  We were on our way to Florida and Phyllis so graciously invited us to their beautiful home.

The table was so prettily set with red transferware, knowing it is one of my favorites.

The menu was delicious scones, shepherd's pie, and strawberry shortcake served with lots of tea!

We enjoyed our time together so much!  Before we left Phyllis kindly let me take photo's of her many beautiful tea treasures to share with you.

Thank you so much Phyllis and Jerry for a wonderful time visiting with you!

And thank you dear blogging friends for stopping by today!

I will be joining the following tea parties this week:  Tea Time Tuesday, Friends Sharing Tea, Tuesday Cuppa Tea, and Teacup Tuesday.

Valentine Tea Time

Happy Valentine week to my tea friends!  Just a little tea to celebrate Valentine's day close to my warm fireplace on a cold winter afternoon.

I am using a tea set I found at different thrift stores.  All the pieces were made in the USA by Taylor Smith.  They were not named, but they look a lot like my other dishes by Taylor Smith  stamped English Abby.

The teapot is so sweet and petite.  Love the round handle on the tea ware!

The creamer has flowers on it instead of the English scene.  I wonder if  it was  part of a tea set, that would be so pretty.

I made chocolate cake hearts for the tea time sweet.  Also, Little Debbie's (cut with a small cookie cutter) topped with my homemade raspberry jam.

This week I will be joining the following parties:  Tea Time Tuesday,  Friends Sharing Tea, Tuesday Cuppa Tea, and Teacup Tuesday.

I will be taking some time off from joining all the lovely tea parties for now.  God Bless and thank you so much for all your wonderful comments you so graciously leave me.

Favorite Teacups and Teapots

Welcome!  Today I want to congratulate  Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage on her fifth anniversary of her lovely Tea Time parties she so graciously invites us to every week.  When Sandi first mentioned her special anniversary tea, sharing our most favorite teacups or teapots, I tried to come up with a favorite, but there are so many wonderful memories connected to my tea treasures, I couldn't choose just one.  I know on top of the list though would be the cherished gifts from loved ones no longer with us.

My precious daughter's gift of this teapot holding so many   happy memories of the day antiquing and enjoying lunch together.

The teacup from the Grand Hotel my daughter gifted me with and the wonderful weekend we had together on Mackinac Island.

My paternal Grandmother's teacup I am so thankful to have.

My maternal Grandmother's tea set.  I remember so well as a child seeing this set in the very china cabinet I now have.

I am using my Grandmothers tea set for tea time today. The colors are so fresh and spring like, a little pick me up on a cold grey winter day!

The teapot is fill with a couple cups of English Tea Shop "Sleigh Ride" tea. An organic green tea.  We certainly have enough snow for a sleigh ride!

The pistachio macaroon's are in a vintage bowl that was my mom's. It's the first time I have been able to find them here and they are very good!

I guess that is why I like tea time so much, a time to use a favorite teacup and teapot that holds so many wonderful memories for myself and others.

Thank you so much for visiting me and for all the lovely comments you gift me with.  Wishing you all have a wonderful week!

I will be joining the following parties this week:  Tea Time Tuesday,  Friends Sharing Tea, Tuesday Cuppa Tea, and Teacup Tuesday.

Friendly Village Tea

Hello and happy January to you!  For tea time this week I'm sharing a tea at my log home I enjoyed with my friend Joyce before the holidays were over.  I used  my collection of Johnson Brothers Friendly Village dishes.  I know many of you have the same pattern.   We live where there is lots of snow in the winter, so this set is perfect for me to use all season.

My sister and daughter-in-law gave me the teapot and teacups a few years ago.

I forgot to take a picture of the pumpkin soup I served first with the chicken pot pie and pumpkin scones!

Dessert was pumpkin pie, molasses cookie wedge, snickerdoodle cookies, and mince tarts.

Lastly, on top of my china cabinet is a thrift find recently.  A Charles Dickens music box, The Old Curiosity Shop. The roof opens up for storage and holds my teabags.  The scene on the small plate next to it reminds me of my farm cottage.  The pattern is Welcome Home by J&G Meakin.

Thank you for stopping by and wishing you a wonderful week!

I will be joining the following parties this week:  Tea Time Tuesday,  Friends Sharing  Tea, Teacup Tuesday, and Tuesday Cuppa Tea.
