Front Porch Tea

Hello friends and welcome!

When autumn arrives with the cold weather we usually get a streak of glorious warm days what we call Indian Summer.  During one of those days I took a break from working in the flower garden and enjoyed a cup of tea on my front porch.

You've seen my teacup and teapot before, but the sweet little creamer is a new one.  My dear friend I met last winter in Florida gave me a set of two in different sizes.  They are marked Rural England, Mid Winter Ltd,  Burslem England.

Years ago I made the sampler.  The motto holds so true.

I've finally brought my geraniums in to stay.  We are getting too many low temps at night.

Grab a cup of tea and I'll share some random photo's with you of our front yard.  This one is of our log home with wild woodbine vine across the top of the garage.

Here's the view from my porch looking toward our driveway.

Next photo is my rose arbor partially covered with woodbine vine.  If you remember,  I had a tea last June under the rose arbor.

My front porch decorated for fall.

I have lots of bittersweet vines this fall.  Hubby cut down part of the vine for me as they were climbing up the nearby tree.  I had lots to share with neighbors and friends.

Well, that's about it from my little corner of the world for this week.  Thank you for stopping by and visiting me. Thank you in advance for all your comments!

I'll be joining the following fun parties this week:  Teatime Tuesday, A Return to Loveliness, Friends Sharing Tea, Share Your Cup Thursday, Feathered Nest Friday, Simple and Sweet Fridays, Home Sweet Home, and Show and Tell Friday.

Sweet Pink Tea

Hello everyone!  Hope you all had a good week!

I'm having another pink tea in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month in my pink farm cottage kitchen using my tea table all dressed up in pink.
.

The floral teapot is musical and one of my favorites.  When I pour tea it sings "Tea for Two".  I found the cup and saucer at two different places.  The teacup is marked Lefton china and saucer is Paragon Golden Emblem, England.  I really love the saucer, so I'm hoping I can find its mate!

Decorating the little ladies bonnet is the last of my perennial sweet peas.  Somehow they missed the light frost we had the other night.

Right after I had this tea I found this sweet pea teacup at a thrift store!  It was half price and only $2.00! I couldn't wait to share this Royal Winchester teacup with you and also the pink cupcake!

Thank you so much for stopping by today and please come visit me again soon!

I'll be joining these lovely parties this week:  Make it Pretty Monday, A Return to Loveliness, Teatime Tuesday, Tuesday Cuppa Tea, Teacup Tuesday, Friends Sharing Tea,  Share Your Cup Thursday, Teacup Thursday, Feathered Nest Friday, Simple and Sweet Fridays, Home Sweet Home, Show and Tell Friday, Pink Saturday, and Saturday Showoff.

Pink Aster Tea

Hello friends,
Early last week we had some gorgeous weather, in the 70's!  My asters are blooming faithfully in my garden and I just could not resist enjoying one last tea in the garden.

As you know October is Breast Cancer Awareness month so with my tea I would like to share with you a little pink.

Before we share tea lets have a prayer that there will soon be a cure for this horrible disease.

I've set the table with two new to me teacups.  They were without their saucer mates, but I have two at home that match ok for now.  The pink cup is marked Coalport bone china, made in England.  The blue cup is marked Grosvenor bone china, England.  These are the first teacups that I have with flowers in the bottom of the cup.  Such a delight to drink from and see the pretty flowers as I finish the tea.

I bought these asters  from Springhill  Nursery in 2008.  The name is Wild Romance, I had to get them for their name alone!  They do have a wild flair to them!  The deer like to nibble on them in the spring so I have different heights of the flowers in my garden.

Thank you for stopping by this week.  I always appreciate your comments so I can tell who has come to tea!

Grandma's China Cabinet and Tea

Hello everyone and happy October to you! It has been cool and windy outside lately, but warm and cozy inside our log cottage.

Today I'm joining Sandi at Rose Chintz Cottage.  She is having a special Tuesday of sharing whats inside our china cabinets.  I 'm sharing what is inside my dear Grandmothers  china cabinet I am so blessed to have.  But first lets have tea!

I set my dining room table that also was my Grandmothers with a set of six different fruit patterns that my Mom gave me.  They were made in Bavaria Germany and named "Old Nuremburg".  You'v seen me use them previously in my post "A Simple August Tea".  I  picked the last flowers of summer for a centerpiece and little Nasturtium fairy has come to tea as well!

Now shall we see whats in the china cabinet?

These are the dishes I used for tea today.

The pink chintz tea set is from my Grandmother and the little chair my cousin made me years ago.

Both the plate and teapot were my Moms.  The little teapot has what looks like the Chinese language stamped on the bottom.

A couple pictures of some pretties in my cabinet.

Hope you enjoyed our tea and some of the special items in my china cabinet.  Thank you for visiting and  have a wonderful week!
